Eli Escobar Live @ the Do-Over LA July 4th by EliEscobar

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of playing at everyone’s favorite party, the Do-Over and once again had a blast. Lloyd and myself rocked the early set which is basically the way to go. Check his set out on the Do-Over website, it’s wicked mate! Blu Jemz and Sterryo of Da Hardy Boyz played a nice and rowdy set later that night and worked the place into a frenzy. Lloyd spent most of their set in a tree.

We like to tell jokes around here. Personally, I’d like to think that my life is one long running inside joke that I don’t always take time to explain. If you’ve been to either of our stores or seen us in the wild, you would know this.

All jokes aside, it’s a personal honor to be a part of this Ja Rule RE-Mixtape project with the homies Jansport J & JBR05KI. Almost a year ago, we got word of his glorious return & had to scramble to respond.

Don’t let the face fool you. She spits that L.A. underground. So much so that the legendary Project Blowed camp backs this 2010 release with a ante up from executive producer Aceyalone.

When JNAT sings her hooks you can feel Love Is on Hiatus’ soul. However it is through the delivery of her personal combinations of styles — “bouncy” (Trigger Finger), “cutting” (Keys to the City), “melodic” (Rain), and “almost-sung” (The Master) — when her zen-inspired positivity shines to make the collection of cuts on Love Is On Hiatus another stepping-stone in keeping hip hop honest.

There are many shiners on this album but “Keys to the City” weighs JNatural in as a respectable artist. The fact that the track features Abstract Rude and Aceyalone bolts her to legitimacy.
