Big Boi is reflecting on OutKast being nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

In February, it was revealed that the legendary "Hey Ya!" duo of Big Boi and André 3000 was nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2025, the only hiphop act recognized in this year's list of nominees. According to HotNewHipHop, the "Do Ya best" rapper didn't see the nomination coming, but the honor is appreciated nonetheless.

"It's like the last Infinity Stone in my Thanos glove," he said. "We never imagined this when we started out."

Big Boi, who confirmed he would "definitely" attend the ceremony if OutKast is honored, explained that nod was unexpected when thinking back to previous honorees.

"When you hear Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, you think of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who," he said. "Being mentioned alongside names like that — people who shaped the sound of generations — that's not something we ever expected."

OutKast is one of several groups and solo artists with lasting legacies nominated for the 2025 induction class for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Other nominees include Mariah Carey, Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper, Oasis, Soundgarden, Joe Cocker, and many more.
