The seasoned rap star out of Georgia, born Kenneth Bailey, passed away on his 39th birthday while he was trying to flee police Friday. According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to a location after they received a call about potential gunfire and a woman who was reportedly in distress. Two men ran out of the back of the residence when police arrived.

Scooter was reportedly one of the men who fled the scene. He apparently injured his leg after he hopped over two fences during his attempt to escape. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Shortly after his death was confirmed, numerous Hip-Hop artists took to social media to mourn him including Bun B, Quavo, Playboi Carti, ATL Jacob, Doe Boy, and others.

“Wtf not scooter man wtf," ATL Jacob wrote. "ATL Jacob ATL Jacob came from Young Scooter man brudda you forever Legendary.”
