J. Cole says he's been too busy working on new music in his latest blog post.

On Tuesday, February 18, the Dreamville co-founder finally shared a fresh update to "The Algorithm" blog on his "Inevitable" website. In his brief message, Cole acknowledged he's been slacking on the consistency but revealed why he hasn't been as active. He said he's "been locked in on the music while also balancing family life." The 40-year-old artist has two sons with his wife Melissa Heholt. In addition to tending to his kinfolk, Cole's busy schedule also includes working on new music.

"I knowwww mannnn," Cole began. "I'm off to a bad start with the consistency, but I'ma do better! Watch!! I been locked in on the music while also balancing family life. It's a juggling act that a blog post wouldn't do justice in explaining. But with that said, I'm back tending to this garden."

Of course, Cole didn't offer any specific details about the music he's working on. Fans have been waiting on a couple of projects from the North Carolina native including The Fall Off and It's a Boy. Both projects are considered part of Cole's plan to bow out of the rap game, but it's clear he's not going anywhere just yet.

Cole has been cooking up since he dropped his Might Delete Later project last year. The surprise album features collaborations with Cam'ron, Ari Lennox, Young Dro, Gucci Mane, Bas, Central Cee, Daylyt and Ab-Soul. His collection of 11 (formerly 12) tracks earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. In an effort to keep his blog alive and kicking, Cole also told fans he plans to allow others to post on "The Algorithm" beginning with his friends Ibrahim "Ib" Hamad and his "Inevitable" audio series producer Scott Lazer.

"I think I'm gonna let some other people post on here too, to get the vibes up," he added. "It'll motivate me to check every day, and will fuel the desire to post more. I'ma start with Ib and Scott and then expand from there. To anybody in the squad reading, if you trying to contribute I'm taking applications!"

J. Cole launched the blog on his 40th birthday last month. He told fans he wants to use the platform as a way to express himself with an intimate audience outside of social media.
