A video showing Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark signing autographs has gone viral.

Clark, 22, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, was playing in the Annika Pro-Am, hosted by World Golf and LPGA Hall-of-Famer Annika Sörenstam, last week when she gleefully posed with several young fans before signing the hat of a man who appeared to be recording himself. The basketball phenom's facial expression quickly disappeared as she signed the hat, as pointed out by several X users, in response to the clip, which had more than 131,000 views as of Thursday (November 21).

"Her smile disappeared so fast when she saw it wasn’t a kid next lmao," one user wrote.

"It’s unfortunate that guys like that ruin the whole experience of kids and real fans getting to meet and get signatures from their heroes or awesome athletes," another user wrote.

Clark, the NCAA's all-time leading scorer for both men's and women's basketball, averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds during her rookie season, setting WNBA records for assists in a single-season (337) and game (19), as well as rookie records for points (769), assists, 3-pointers (122) and triple-doubles (2), leading the Fever to a playoff berth before being eliminated by the Connecticut Sun in the first-round. The 22-year-old emerged as the face of women's basketball during her decorated collegiate career, which led to a spike in support of the sport, with her college and WNBA games setting viewership records.
