Amid all the commotion in the latest episode of Power: Book II, Lil Durk had the timeline talking about his performance on the popular TV series.
The Chicago rapper made his acting debut in the lead-up to the series finale on Friday, September 27. Durk portrayed the cousin of "Cane" (played by Woody McClain). The 31-year-old joined the crew to celebrate Cane's bachelor party on the night before he married "Noma" (Caroline Chikezie). Durk only had a couple of scenes in the episode, but it was enough to draw mixed reactions from fans.
"wtf lil durk doing in power 😂😂😂," one fan wrote.
"Lil durk being in the latest episode of power was absolutely uncalled for 😂😂😂😂😭," another fan commented.
Some fans cracked jokes at his expense. However, some believe he did better than other rappers like Yung Miami and Lil Baby, who both guest starred in 50 Cent's "BMF" series. Fans found out about Lil Durk's appearance on the show a few days before the episode aired. Actor Gianni Paolo, who plays Brayden in the series, confirmed the rapper's guest spot after the script was allegedly leaked. He took to Instagram where he posted photos and videos of him with Durk on set.
“We kept it a secret for a year and a half and they wanna leak it two days before the mf episode,” Paolo wrote. “Cats out of the bag now big bros TV debut… Can’t wait for y’all to see.”
Lil Durk's guest appearance happened days after he dropped his new single "Turn Up A Notch." The song is set to appear on his forthcoming album Love Songs 4 The Streets 3. As of this report, a release date for the project has not been confirmed.
