Lil Wayne has fans cooking up conspiracy theories about where he stands in the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef.
On Saturday night, July 13, the Young Money founder hit the stage at Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas. In a video that has spread around social media, Lil Wayne appears to rap the chorus of Kendrick's "Not Like Us" while holding up his OVO owl chain before he gets into his verse on Drake's "The Motto." The brief moment has people debating over Wayne's intentions during the show. Some people think he co-signed K.Dot while others believe he trolled the crowd and pledged his unwavering support for Drizzy.
"Drake and Wayne are a duo that will never switch sides no matter what narrative gets thrown out there," one fan wrote.
"NAH MAN DRAKE IS FINISHED KENDRICK LAMAR EVEN GOT LIL WAYNE SINGING THEY NOT LIKE US 😂😂😂😂," another fan commented.
"Lil Wayne was being supportive of both Kendrick and Drake," said another spectator. "Yall need to stop with the unnecessary hate."
This is the first time Lil Wayne has offered his thoughts about Drake and Kendrick Lamar's beef since it blew up in March. The seasoned MC has a solid rapport with both artists. Weezy helped launch Drizzy's career after he signed him to Young Money over a decade ago. They have collaborated on numerous tracks and recently shared a stage during the final stretch of Drake's "It's All A Blur - Big As The What? Tour" earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Wayne also collaborated with Kendrick on songs like "Mona Lisa" and Mike WiLL Made-It's "Buy The World" along with Future. The Compton native even mentioned Wayne on "Not Like Us."
"F**ked on Wayne girl while he was in jail, that's connivin'/Then get his face tatted like a b***h apologizin'," Kendrick raps.
