A Florida firefighter is suspected to have killed his wife in a murder-suicide case weeks after she shared a Facebook post claiming his work schedule had pushed him to the brink, FOX News Digital reports.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue Lieutenant Shawn Yarbrough fatally shot his wife, Andrea Yarbrough, 34, before turning the gun on himself at their St. Augustine home earlier this month. The couple was found dead in an upstairs bathroom at around 9:00 p.m. local time on June 13 during a welfare check after Andrea's mother told police she couldn't reach her daughter, according to an incident report obtained by the cable news network.

The incident took place weeks after Andrea shared a Facebook post that included a graphic showing 3,203 calls for service made to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.

"This is why all of our significant others are exhausted and never functioning 100% at home," she wrote.

Andrea, who worked as a financial manager, shared three more posts on her Facebook account that appeared to show her family in good spirits during the weeks leading to her death. Shawn and Andrea had been married for one year and shared a blended family of four children.

The 34-year-old had an 11-year-old daughter from a prior relationship and three stepsons through her marriage to Shawn.

"She loved those boys and wanted the best for them," her mother, Debbie Churchill, told FOX News Digital. "It’s all very confusing and hard right now. I can’t explain it. I don’t even know how. It’s something that no one can understand unless they've been through it."
