Usher previously shut down the idea of a Verzuz battle against Chris Brown amid the fiery debates over the next major match-up. Now it seems like there might be some hope for fans.
During his recent visit to Big Boy's Neighborhood, the "GLU" singer responded to the idea of actually facing off with Brown in a song-for-song battle. Usher didn't automatically dismiss it like he did last year. Instead, he said that if they did get together to celebrate their iconic catalogs it would "one of the biggest things that anybody has ever experienced in entertainment."
"Me and Chris will kill the world if we ever did something together like that, I'm not saying it's Verzuz," Usher told Big Boy. "I'mma just say this, if that ever happens it'll be one of the biggest things that anybody has ever experienced in entertainment in celebration of two people who love each other because I love Chris."
Usher and Chris Brown's tight bond has strengthened over the years, especially after the two connected on various hits like "New Flame" and "Party." Since Verzuz debuted in 2020, fans have always pitched their ideal match-ups for the live battle series. While Usher versus Justin Timberlake was also a heated debate, Brown versus Usher always made the most sense.
"I don't like him, I don't like his music, I love his music. I love him," Usher continued. "He's my little brother and he's always been there for me and I've been there with him. Through hard up and down times, I've been there with him. For us to be able to celebrate what we do together, that would be crazy."
