Juice Wrld, who suddenly died at the age of 21 earlier this month, has been laid to rest.
According to TMZ, family and friends of the late “Lucid Dreams” rapper, whose birth name was Jarad Anthony Higgins, came together at Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Harvey, Illinois, to see the star off during an open-casket funeral held on Friday (December 13).
“My dear son Jarad, God trusted me to raise you and I poured all I had into you as the Lord guided me. We were inseparable and even though you left home early, we were always in each other’s hearts and always had a special bond,” Juice’s mother, Carmela Wallace, wrote in the funeral program, obtained by the celebrity gossip outlet.
“We were always overjoyed to see each other, and you still called me ‘mommy’ as you hugged and kiss me when you saw me. Your love was pure and innocent, and your heart was genuine. You truly cared about people and wanted to make the world a better place,” she continued. “I am going to miss you dearly. Rest in peace my dear one; mommy loves you.”
As previously reported, Juice went gone into cardiac arrest at the Chicago Midway International Airport on Sunday (December 8) as feds searched him and his entourage for weapons.
Additionally, TMZ indicated the pilot who was flying Juice's private plane informed authorities that the star's entourage had guns on board, which wasn't allowed. This prompted FBI and FAA agents to standby to perform a search on the aircraft once it landed. Per sources, it was "some point between the plane landing and the feds conducting their search, Juice was seen swallowing several Percocet pills in what people believed was an attempt to hide them."
As yet, Juice's official cause of death remains under investigation.
