According to reports, Hollywood is looking for their Willy Wonka! Yup, they're making another movie starring the character Willy Wonka which was famously played by Gene Wilder and then Johnny Depp! Well at first I was VERY against this idea. Can we just stop remaking movies that don't need to be remade. It's been over 10 years since Johnny Depp starred as Willy Wonka in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" but that still isn't enough time!
However, I read a bit more and it was explained that this wouldn't be a remake, it would actually be a Willy Wonka Origin story. How did Willy Wonka become that famous Candy man?! Hmmm Well, ok I'll let them do this film then! But can it be less CGI and a bit more gritty?
Here is who they are thinking about casting for the role, Donald Glover. After his Teddy Perkins episode of Atlanta, I believe Donald can do anything!
Also in the running - Ryan Gosling! Ryan is another actor who can pretty much do anything, have you see La La Land! AHHHH I love that!! However we haven't had the chance to see Ryan be really weird so this would be really cool for him!
Lastly, also in the running for the movie is Ezra Miller! Ezra is such an interesting actor and has a great look; he actually looks a bit like a younger Johnny Depp. Ezra played "The Flash" in Justice League. He's in some good company, I'll be interested to see who lands the role!
